WHAT IS THE SCOUT PIONEER BADGE?
The Scout Pioneer Badge gives young scouts the skills to build structures and look after themselves in the outdoors. Tying knots and lashings eventually leads to skills such as building rafts and rope ladders. Pioneering is the art of using ropes and wooden spars joined by lashings and knots to create a structure. Pioneering is used to teach practical skills, teamwork and problem solving.
